Thompson & Whitmore Earn 1st-Team All-NE10 Honors; DuCharme & Morgen Also Honored

WALTHAM, Mass. – Graduate guard Ella Thompson (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove HS) and senior forward Maggie Whitmore (South Portland, Maine/South Portland HS) are among four Bentley University women's basketball players who were recognized Wednesday when the Northeast-10 announced its all-conference teams.

Thompson and Whitmore were both voted to the All-Northeast-10 first team after helping the Falcons to a share of the conference regular season championship and a berth in Thursday's NE10 semifinal game. Thompson received All-Conference recognition for the fourth time (2nd team in 2022, 3rd team in 2023, Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie Team in 2020) and Whitmore was honored for the third time (2nd team last year and All-Rookie in 2022).

Junior forward Kylie DuCharme (Wilmington/Wilmington HS) was voted to the All-NE10 third team and freshman guard Niya Morgen (Swampscott/St. Mary's HS) became the ninth Falcon to earn Rookie of the Year honors. The four-time NE10 Rookie of the Week was also selected for the All-Rookie Team.

Thompson, whose 64 threes are second most in the NE10 and the most by a Falcon since Lauren Green in 2016-17, is averaging 11 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists while playing 32.4 minutes a game. She was recently recognized as the NE10 Player of the Week and is in the top ten in the conference in three-point accuracy and assists.

Thompson, currently 22nd on Bentley's all-time scoring list with 1,231 points, is one of seven players in the program's storied history with at least 1,200 points, 300 rebounds and 300 assists. Her 224 three-pointers is the fourth most all-time by a Falcon.

Whitmore, Bentley's leading scorer for the second consecutive year, will enter Thursday's NE10 tournament game against Franklin Pierce two points away from 1,000. The six-footer averages 12.6 points and 6.9 rebounds.

For the second straight season, Whitmore leads the Northeast-10 in free throw accuracy with her percentage up to .875 after making 20 of her last 22. Her career mark of .857 is by far the best in program history.

DuCharme has been one of the premier rebounders in the conference this season as well as one of the most improved players. She is averaging 10.9 points and 8.7 rebounds, and leads Bentley in both steals (46) and blocks (21).

Morgen has had a strong rookie season coming off the Falcon bench and has been the Northeast-10 leader in three-point accuracy throughout the season. Her .508 percentage from deep is the best in the NE10 by more than five percent and she's averaging 8.0 points per game. Morgen has scored in doubles nine times with a high of 19 against Assumption Jan. 3.

Bentley, which will bring a 24-5 record in Thursday's game against Franklin Pierce, is ranked 21st in the latest WBCA Division II coaches poll.
