WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University graduate guard Ella Thompson (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove HS) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week following her outstanding performance against Southern Connecticut last Tuesday.
In the final regular season game of her career, Thompson matched her career-high with 25 points as the Falcons secured a share of the NE10 regular season title with a 72-57 win. She made seven of 16 shots overall, buried half of her 10 three-pointers, was perfect on her six free throws, and also recorded four rebounds, a career-best three blocks and two assists.
The only remaining Falcon who played for Naismith Hall of Fame coach Barbara Stevens, Thompson is averaging 11 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists this season. Her 64 three-pointers, on 38 percent shooting from behind the arc, is the second most in the Northeast-10.
For her career, the four-year starter has 1,231 points, 394 rebounds, 312 assists and 224 three-pointers, with the latter fourth most in program history.
Thompson and her teammates, who are currently 24-5, will host Franklin Pierce Thursday at 6 pm in the NE10 semifinals.
