Brekke Tabbed for CSC Academic All-District Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University graduate guard Kari Brekke (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North HS) has been tabbed for the 2023 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Division II Women's Basketball Academic All-District 1 team for her success on the court and in the classroom.

Brekke will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

Brekke finished the regular season for the 17-9 Falcons with averages of 8.6 points and 2.0 rebounds. She's fifth in the Northeast-10 in three-point accuracy at .409, having dropped 38 of 93 attempts from long distance through the basket.

Brekke, twice an All-Northeast-10 honoree (third team in 2019-20, second team last winter), eclipsed the 1,000-point mark earlier this season and currently has 1,097 points, including her year at the University of New Hampshire. Her career .398 accuracy rate from downtown ranks fifth in program history.

Brekke, who graduated from Bentley Summa Cum Laude, was the recipient of the 2022 Northeast-10 Elite 24 award for women's basketball, which is presented to the student-athlete in the conference championship game with the highest GPA.  Brekke achieved a 3.84 GPA as an information design and corporate communications major and has earned a 3.77 in grad school while pursuing her MBA.

Brekke and her teammates will begin the postseason tonight with an NE10 first-round game against St. Michael's College.
