WALTHAM, Mass. – After a pair of late-game rallies, the Bentley University women's basketball will bring a six-game winning streak into the Dana Center Saturday afternoon when it hosts Assumption College while celebrating both Senior Day and Pink Day. Tip-off is at 1:30 pm with a free webcast available at www.bentleyfalcons.tv.

Bentley, 18-3 overall and 12-3 in the Northeast-10, is vying for its second Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division title in three years. The Falcons, 12-1 over its last 13, lead the division by two games over surprising Saint Anselm and three over Assumption (13-7, 9-6) with six to play.

On Wednesday, Bentley survived at Stonehill, prevailing 53-50 after junior All-Conference forward Jen Gemma (Milton/Thornton Academy)  scored six unanswered points in the final 65 seconds, including both a tying and go-ahead free throw with 9.2 seconds left.

That came four days after coach Barbara Stevens' team secured a 60-56 win over Southern Connecticut with a game-ending 9-2 run over the final 100 seconds. Freshman guard Megan Lewis (Sevenoaks, England), who had a key late-game steal at Stonehill, was instrumental in that one with five of the nine points. Senior guard Jane White (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan HS) also helped out in the comeback with three points, a steal and an assist.

Gemma, the NE-10's scoring leader and one of two players in the conference averaging a double-double, had one of her best games of the season the last time the Falcons and Hounds met, Nov. 24 out in Worcester. She tied her career-high (31 points) and also had a dozen rebounds, but it wasn't quite enough as Assumption prevailed in OT, 78-72.

Gemma had 23 in the Stonehill win and is now averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.

Bentley's other double-figure scorer is sophomore guard Lauren Green (Damascus, Md./ Damascus HS), whose .442 percentage from three-point land is third in the NE-10. Her scoring average is currently 10.7.

Lewis has been a key contributor throughout her rookie season, but particularly in the last ten games when she's provided 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.7 steals while shooting 49 percent, both overall and from deep.

White, the team's only senior, had 11 points, three assists and three steals last Saturday against Southern, and followed with five points at Stonehill. She'll be recognized before the game Saturday, along with team manager and former player Erica Oundjian.

Assumption, after dropping five of its previous seven, opened February with a 71-57 win over Southern New Hampshire, the team's ninth win in 11 home games. The Hounds haven't had the same success on the road, dropping three in a row to fall to 4-5 away from Worcester.

The Hounds (13-7, 9-6) have a guard-fueled offense with the team's top three scorers being junior Allison Stoddard, senior Kelly Conley and junior Kelly Carey. Stoddard averages 11.8 points and three assists, Conley follows at 10.0 points and 2.9 assists, and Carey has knocked down 46 threes while scoring 9.7 a game.

The top frontcourt scorer for Assumption is junior forward Jaclyn Storey, with a 7.1 average.

Bentley will be looking to end a three-game slide in a series it leads 67-10. The last one saw Assumption shoot 10 of 24 from deep, tying a season-high for three-pointers, with junior guard Morgan O'Brien scoring 18 off the bench. Stoddard and O'Brien each sank three triples.

Following Saturday's game, Bentley will play three of its next four in the Granite State, beginning Wednesday at Southern New Hampshire in a game that will be broadcast on NESN+ and NESN National.
