Longo, Krause hit home runs at Pace

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Jordan Krause and Gabriella Longo both hit home runs, but the Bentley softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader at Pace Sunday afternoon. The Falcons dropped the first game, 5-0, and then lost the second game, 9-4.

Krause continued to build on her Bentley record for career home runs, adding No. 15 with a solo shot in the first inning of the second game. It was her fourth home run of the season. Bentley's 1-0 lead didn't last long, as Pace rallied for three runs in the bottom of the frame.

Longo's first home run of the season was a two-run blast in the fifth inning. Jess Morrison scored after leading off the inning with a single. The fifth-inning rally continued when Krause reached base on an error, and she came in to score when Sabrina Grizzaffi clubbed a double to left-center field.

Krause's run gave Bentley a one-run lead again, 4-3. However, the Setters once again immediately responded and plated four runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Grizzaffi, Morrison, and Longo each collected two hits in the second game.

Bentley's next Northeast-10 doubleheader is at Southern New Hampshire Wednesday, April 17, starting at 2 p.m.
