Fink Selected as the Northeast-10 Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University sophomore pitcher/designated player Dahlia Fink (Sherman Oaks, Calif./Notre Dame HS) has been named the Softball Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference after helping the Falcons to a 5-0-1 week.

Fink got it done from both the plate and the center circle during the week. She hit .529, slugged .824, posted a 1.350 OPS and drove in eight runs, including at least one in each of the five games she was used as a hitter. Her nine hits included two doubles and her first career home run.

From the circle, she was 1-0 with two saves in four appearances She saved both ends of shutout victories over Southern New Hampshire and gained the victory, her eighth in nine decisions, in a 5-4 win at American International.

Fink had all three RBI in a 3-2 game one victory over Saint Anselm, a game in which she doubled twice. She also had two hits in game two against the Hawks and two in each game of the SNHU sweep.

Fink is hitting a lofty .466 with 21 RBI in 58 at bats. In 20 pitching appearances, she's 8-1 with a 2.36 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 80 innings.

Also recognized by the conference, with selection to the Weekly Honor Roll, was junior pitcher Payton Doiron (Beacon Falls, Conn./St. Joseph HS). She was 3-0 during the week with a 1.65 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 17 innings.

For the season, Doiron owns an 11-3 record, 122 strikeouts and a 2.16 ERA. Her 11 wins is tied for the third most in program history and she needs only six more K's to break the Bentley single season record.

Bentley, 23-10-1 overall and 14-3-1 NE10, will complete the home schedule on Wednesday with a doubleheader against Assumption University.
