WALTHAM, Mass. – It's been a great start to the season for Bentley University's Jordan Krause (San Pedro, Calif./San Pedro HS) and as a result, the sophomore left fielder has been named to the 2003 Tucci/NFCA Division II Player of the Year Watchlist by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

New in 2023, the list is broken down into the eight NCAA Regions (Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West) with up to 15 student-athletes represented in each region. The list is compiled, and the award is voted on by the elected members of the NFCA Division II All-American Committee with one head coach representing each of the eight NCAA regions.

Through 20 games, Krause has a .486 batting average, an .857 slugging percentage and a .538 on base percentage for the 13-7 Falcons. Her 34 hits include seven doubles, two triples and five home runs, and she also has 21 RBI and 25 runs scored.  With runners in scoring position, she is 11 for 20.

Krause, one of six Northeast-10 players and 11 from the East Region to be included on the Watchlist, ranks 17th in Division II in average, 20th in runs per game, 24th in slugging and 26th in on base percentage.

Owner of her second eight-game hitting streak of the season, Krause leads the East Region in home runs per game, averaging 0.25. She's also second in runs per game and slugging, as well as third in batting average, on base percentage and RBI per game.

In the Northeast-10, Krause is in the top three in eight different categories.

A first-team All-Northeast-10 honoree last year as a freshman, Krause has a .419 career average, 88 hits, nine home runs and 36 RBI in 62 games. Her next home run will break the Bentley career record she co-owns with Kaileen Cain.

Bentley has two home doubleheaders coming up, Friday against Adelphi and Sunday against Pace. Due to the expected inclement weather, Friday's start time has been moved up to 11 am.
