Krause Named Northeast-10 Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University sophomore left fielder Jordan Krause (San Pedro, Cal./San Pedro HS) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Softball Player of the Week following her outstanding performance this past weekend during a season-opening trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Krause led the Falcons to a 5-1 record and a five-game winning streak by putting up a sensational slash line of .619/.680/.905 with her 13 hits including four doubles and a triple. She scored 12 times over the weekend and also drove in six runs.

While the season is very young, Krause currently leads the conference in batting, hits, total bases, on base, slugging, doubles and runs. She had a trio of three-hit games and scored multiple runs in five of the six contests.

Krause is coming off an outstanding rookie season in 2022, one that saw her lead the Falcons with a .388 average and earn first-team All-Northeast-10 accolades. Her 80 total bases was the second most in program history, her 54 hits were tied for second most and her 32 runs were third most all-time.

Also recognized, with selection to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll, was sophomore Dahlia Fink (Sherman Oaks, Cal./Notre Dame HS). During the opening weekend, she was 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA with regional wins over Felician, Mercy and Bloomfield. Fink threw a three-hit shutout against Mercy and defeated Bloomfield, 5-1. The opponents were limited to a .226 average and Fink also had two hits and two runs scored in four at bats.

Bentley, which set a school record for wins last spring, will return to action March 12 with the start of a ten-game trip to Leesburg, Fla.
