18 Bentley Softball Players Recognized with NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – 18 members of the 2021 Bentley University softball team recently received Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for their excellence in the classroom. Only nine Division II programs in the country had more than 18 student-athletes recognized.

The list of honorees included a pair of graduate students, five who were seniors last spring, two who were juniors, six sophomores and three freshmen. All were recognized for achieving a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the 2020-21 academic year.

The graduate students were outfielder Stacey Korotsky (Raynham/Bridgewater Raynham Reg. HS), who was Bentley's nominee for NCAA and Northeast-10 Woman of the Year, and third baseman Kaileen Cain (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge HS), who will return this year for her final year of eligibility after injuries limited her to three games in 2021.

The seniors were infielder Lindsey Allen (Worcester/Worcester Tech HS), outfielder Lea Thompson (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull HS) and pitchers Lauren Calabrese (Cave Creek, Ariz./Boulder Creek HS), Ashley Keegan (Pittsfield/Taconic HS) and Melissa Landry (Chatham, N.J./Chatham HS).

From the Class of 2022, the honorees were catcher Ella Hillier (Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin HS) and Elise Pereira (Plainville/King Philip Reg.).
