Kasson Named Third-Team All-Northeast-10
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Bentley University sophomore shortstop Stephanie Kasson (Hyde Park, N.Y./Franklin D. Roosevelt HS) has been selected by the conference coaches to the All-Northeast-10 softball third team.
Kasson, a left-handed slap hitter, led the 15-25 Falcons in batting average, with her .362 mark ranking 18th in the 16-team conference. She also paced her team in runs scored (25), hits (46), total bases (50), slugging percentage (.385), stolen bases (12) and assists (84).
Good things usually happened when Kasson reached base for coach Michele DeGregorio's team. In fact, she hit .549 and had a .582 on base percentage in the Falcons' 15 victories.
Kasson, whose batting average was up 81 points from her freshman, connected at a .342 clip with runners on and reached base 43 percent of the time when leading off an inning.
Kasson had 14 multi-hit games, including a four-hit performance Apr. 11 against Franklin Pierce.
