Tolan Leads Bentley During Suffolk Short Course Classic; Falcons Place 8th

BOSTON, Mass. – Bentley University senior co-captain Brice Tolan (Abington/Abington HS) was the Falcons' top finisher Friday afternoon during the season-opening Suffolk Short Course Classic at Franklin Park.

Tolan finished the 5,000-meter course in 16:54, an improvement of 64 seconds over his performance in the same meet a year ago. He was 37th overall in a field of 101 and eighth among non-Division I student-athletes.

The next two Falcons across the line were Seton Hall transfer Sirish Modhagala (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington HS) and junior Cole Duval (Tolland/Mount Everett HS). Modhagala, in his first career cross country meet, finished 51st in 17:17 and Duval was 54th in 17:19.

Bentley was eighth among 15 teams overall and fourth among 11 non-Division I teams, posting a score of 242.

Northeastern had the first five finishers, including winner Alexander Korczynski (15:08), and took the team championship over Brown University, 15-58.

The next action for the Falcons is the Ted Owens Invitational, which will be hosted by Central Connecticut State Sept. 24.
