Murphy & Higgins Top Finishers for Bentley Men in UMass-Dartmouth Invitational

DARMOUTH, Mass. – Freshman Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown HS) and sophomore Seamus Higgins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) were the top finishers for the Bentley University men's cross country team during Saturday's UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.

Murphy, in his collegiate debut, placed 41st in a field of 324 as he covered the five-mile course in 26:35.73. Higgins followed in 26:58.01, putting him in 67th place.

Bentley, which ran only one runner who competed in last week's season-opening Dartmouth Invitational, was 17th of 41 in the team standings, posting a score of 537. The team title went to Brandeis University, with a 23-point margin of victory over East Stroudsburg University, and the individual champion was Southern New Hampshire's Ignatio Hernando with a time of 25:13.61.

Next Saturday, Bentley will run at the Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota in Falcon Heights, Minn.
