Gettings Leads Bentley during Final Day of Northeast-10 Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Josh Gettings (Lowell, Mass./Lowell HS) was the top day two performer for the Bentley University men's outdoor track and field team as the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference Championships drew to a close at Southern Connecticut State University Saturday afternoon.

Gettings finished sixth in the 400 meter hurdles, circling the track in 55.63 seconds. It was an event dominated by underclassmen with the top nine including three freshmen and three sophomores.

Gettings was also part of the Falcons' 4x400 relay team that finished in seventh in 3:24.33. Sophomore Alex Arnold (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) led off and the final two legs were run by sophomore Robert Moritz (Singapore) and senior Nick Skarin (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee HS).

Senior Beau Kraft (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point HS) scored with an eighth-place finish in the discus. His throw of 124'1" bettered the mark posted by sophomore teammate JT Brine (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point HS), who followed in ninth.

Brine's ninth-place finish was matched by Skarin in the 800 with a time of 1:54.81.

In the 5,000, Bentley junior Dan Hergott (Wallingford, Conn./Xavier HS) finished tenth in 15:41.25.

As a team, Bentley was ninth among 11 teams with 24 points.

Southern Connecticut State ran away with the team title, outscoring runner-up American International 240-138.5.

Next weekend, Bentley will be at Dartmouth for the New Englands.
