4 Falcons Turn In Winning Performances During Tufts Snowflake Classic

MEDFORD, Mass. – Sophomore Ryan Cadorette (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy), who ran the fastest 10,000 meters in the Northeast-10 Conference thus far during the spring season, was one of four members of the Bentley University men's outdoor track and field team to post a first-place finish during Saturday's Tufts Snowflake Classic at rainy Dussault Track.

Cadorette captured the meet's longest race by more than 24 seconds over unattached runner Joseph St. Pierre with his time of 32:12.71 reducing his personal best by 30.75 seconds and moving him to 13th on Bentley's all-time list. Also in the 10K, freshman Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown HS) was ninth in 33:10.18, fourth best in the NE-10 this season.

In the 800, Bentley senior Sean Nee (West Yarmouth/Dennis-Yarmouth Reg. HS) set a new PR and outran a field of 63 with a time of 1:55.88. That was good for second on the season's NE-10 performance list.

On his final throw in the javelin, senior co-captain Joe Simonini (Revere/Revere HS) unleashed a throw of 149'8" to overtake sophomore teammate Holt Sihvonen (Lebanon, Conn./Lyman Memorial HS) by just over five feet. Sihvonen, the school record holder in the event, was second and freshman Anthony Giesing (Bradford, Vt./Oxbow HS) followed in ninth (132'6").

Bentley also had three in the top ten of the 1500 with junior Tim Bolick (Hopkinton/Hopkinton HS) besting senior teammate David Cooper (Woburn/Woburn HS) by 0.55 seconds. Both PR'd, with Bolick's 4:04.40 sixth best so far in the NE-10 and Cooper's 4:04.95 seventh best. In addition, senior Tom Dean (Portland, Maine/Deering HS) was tenth in the 55-runner competition with his 4:08.54 also a PR and number nine on the NE-10 performance list.

Nee, Bolick, Cooper and senior Anthony Lacey (Ogdensburg, N.J./Pope John XXIII) teamed for a 3:29.65 in the 4x40. They were second of eight in the meet with their time fourth best in the NE-10.

Also scoring for the Falcons were sophomore Beau Kraft (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point HS) and senior co-captain Wes Dupray (Rowley/St. John's Prep). Kraft was fifth of 26 in the discus (125'5") and Dupray seventh of 20 in the hammer (123'9", a PR by six inches).

As a team, Bentley was sixth of 16 with 73 points.

Next Saturday, Bentley will be in Springfield for the American International Invitational.
