Soifer Helps Lead Bentley to 8-1 Win over Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Junior Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) won in both singles and doubles to help the Bentley men's tennis team to an 8-1 victory at Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday afternoon.

Soifer teamed with freshman Noah Monsanto (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) for an 8-3 victory in No. 1 doubles. That was one of two wins in doubles for Bentley on the day, with freshmen Andrew Broom (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) and Reilly O'Brien (Andover, Mass./Andover) earning an 8-3 win in No. 3.

Soifer's second win of the day came in No. 1 singles. He defeated Julius Lowman in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 10-6.

Bentley swept the singles matches on their way to the 8-1. Monsanto was a straight sets, 6-0, 6-2 winner in No. 2 for his second victory of the match. Sophomore Sergio Blanco (Guaynabo, P.R.) claimed a 6-0, 6-4 victory in No. 3.

Freshman Liam Marr (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) triumphed in No. 4 by a 6-3, 6-0 score. O'Brien and Broom both earned their second wins of the day in singles. O'Brien by a 6-1, 6-3 score in No. 5 and Broom 6-4, 6-4 in No. 6.

The Falcons improved to 3-0 this fall season. They will play their final two matches of the fall over the next two days when they host Eastern Nazarene on Thursday and travel to Endicott on Friday.
