Getting to Know Men's Tennis Player Mauricio Fadul

Getting to Know Bentley men's tennis player Mauricio Fadul. A junior from Miami, but born in Paraguay, Mauricio is a supply chain and operations management major. He was named to the NE10 All-Rookie team last season.

At what age did you begin playing tennis?

I began playing tennis when I was 3 years old. Growing up I played mainly soccer and tennis. Late in high school I got into basketball, but I always played tennis over everything else.

Who was your favorite athlete growing up, and who is your favorite athlete now?

My favorite athletes growing up were Roger Federer and Dwayne Wade. Current favorite athletes are LeBron James and Roger Federer.

What is the most memorable sporting event that you have attended?

Growing up in Miami, I was able to attend the Miami Open every year and got to see all the top players from very close. Since it isn't a grand slam, you can watch the players practice from close and get autographs and pictures with all the players.

What is your favorite place that you have traveled to?

Favorite place I have traveled to was Isla Baru, Colombia.

What is your pre and post match meal of choice?

Before a game I like to have pasta and chicken. After a game, I like to have steak or pasta again.

Why did you choose to come to Bentley?

I chose Bentley for its business program and education, love the area, and also gave me the opportunity to play tennis.

What is your most memorable moment of your Bentley career so far?

Favorite moment so far has been winning 4-3 against Florida Tech when we played them in Florida last season.

What have you been doing during this shutdown to stay busy?

Most days I go to class and do exercise. Apart from this, I have been cooking a lot recently and trying out new recipes with my family.
