Cumberland, R.I. – Bentley won the doubles point and had four singles matches go to three sets, but ultimately dropped a 6-1 decision to Division I Bryant on Friday.

The Falcons won the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches to claim the doubles point. When the action shifted to singles Bentley pushed four matches to three sets, but the Bulldogs ultimately claimed each match to secure the overall victory.

In doubles, Bentley's team of Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) and Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) won the No. 1 match, 6-1 over Trent Massam and Grant Pertile. In the No. 3 match, the Falcons team of Tawan Rattaseri (Bangkok, Thailand) and Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Stamford) defeated Aryaan Sen and Andrew Quiros 6-3.

Those two wins saw Bentley take a 1-0 lead into singles play, where the No. 1, 2, 4, 5 matches went to three sets.

In No. 1, Aulson won the first set over Massam 6-3, but Massam took the next two sets 6-0, 7-6. In No. 2, Weitz overcame dropping the first set 6-4 to Bryant's Teague Burger to win the second set 6-4. But Burger took the third set 6-4 to win the match.

The No. 4 match saw the Falcons' Mauricio Fadul (Miami, Fla.) go against Pertile. Fadul won the first set 6-2, but Pertile claimed the next two sets, 7-5, 6-2.

The No. 5 match pitted Bentley's Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) against Bryant's Andrew Corrado. Corrado won the first set 7-6, but Au responded with a 6-2 victory in the second set. Corrado though took the third set 7-5.

Bentley (4-2) will continue the early portion of its spring schedule next Wednesday when they take on MIT.
