WALTHAM, Mass. – For the third time in his career, Bentley's George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao) has been named the Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

Samander helped Bentley to a big early season win on Sunday when they defeated Post University on Sunday, which had qualified for the NCAA East Regional last season.

In the 5-4 victory, Samander accounted for two of those points in with wins in both singles and doubles. He first teamed with Brendan McCarthy for an 8-4 win in No. 1 doubles. In singles, he then claimed a 6-2, 6-3 win in the No. 2 match.

It's the third straight week a Bentley player has earned an award from the NE10, after Connor Aulson and Daniel Weitz were named Rookie of the Week in consecutive weeks.

Bentley continues its fall season on Wednesday when they host Nichols College.
