Bentley Voted 5th in NE10 Coaches Poll; Ranked 9th in East Region

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University was voted 5th in the Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Coaches Poll, while they also garnered a ranking of 9th in the initial NCAA East Region rankings of the season.

Though the season has already gotten well underway, the Falcons were picked 5th NE10 Coaches Poll. Heading into this weekend, the team is 8-6 overall, 3-3 in NE10 matches, and 5-2 in East Region matches.

In the NE10 poll, Southern New Hampshire was voted first with 77 points and eight first-place votes. Merrimack is second with 70 points and one first-place vote. Adelphi is third with 67 points, Le Moyne is fourth with 59 points and one first-place vote, and Bentley checked in at fifth with 49 points.

The top six teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the NE10 Championship, which get underway on April 18. Bentley has three NE10 matches left, starting with Saturday's home match against Le Moyne.

Queens (NY) tops the East Region rankings. Three other NE10 teams appear in the rankings; Southern N.H. (4th), Merrimack (7th), and Adelphi (8th). The top seven teams out of the region are selected for the NCAA Tournament.  

After the Falcons host Le Moyne on Saturday at noon, played at Brandeis, they will visit Holy Cross on Sunday for a 10:00 am match.
