McCarthy, Frye & Rosa Earn Points but Bentley Falls to MIT 7-2

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Bentley men's tennis team opened its spring schedule on Friday against MIT. Freshman Brendan McCarthry (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) earned a point in singles, and Sam Frye and Chase Rosa won a doubles match, but the Falcons were beaten overall 7-2.

MIT took the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches, but Frye and Rosa combined to defeat Avi Walden and Moseley Andrews 9-7 in the No. 3 match. That gave the Engineers a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.

McCarthy earned Bentley's point in singles by defeating Kenny Gea in the No. 2 match 6-2, 6-2. But MIT came away with the other five matches.

Bentley is back in action next Saturday when they host Wentworth at the Cedardale Athletic Club.
