Ribeiro Among Four Men's Tennis Players Named All-Conference

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) was one of four Bentley University men's tennis players to be named All-Conference by the Northeast-10, the league announced Tuesday.

Ribeiro, junior Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) and freshman Kamil Pilch (Wroclaw, Poland/IMG Pendleton) each received two All-Conference nods. Sophomore Alex DeMuth (Shaker Heights, Ohio/University School) also received All-Conference recognition in doubles.

Ribeiro was named third team All-Conference in No. 1 singles and to the second team in No. 1 doubles with Pilch, who also garnered a selection to the All-Rookie team. Waddington was placed on the third team for No. 4 singles and the second team for No. 3 doubles with DeMuth.

Ribeiro, who has now received All-Conference honors in singles in each of his four years at Bentley, went 7-2 this season in the NE-10, all of which were played in the No. 1 spot. He and Pilch went 6-1 in No. 1 doubles.

One of six players to make the All-Rookie team, Pilch posted a 3-4 record in conference singles matches, all played in the No. 3 spot, and also formed an effective doubles team with Ribeiro.

Waddington produced a conference record of 6-3 in singles and 2-3 in doubles with DeMuth.

Bentley finished the regular season with an overall record of 7-10 and 7-2 conference, giving them the second seed in this week's Northeast-10 Championships. They will face the winner of Wednesday's first round match between Southern New Hampshire and American International in the semifinals on Friday at home.
