WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley won four of six singles matches after falling behind in doubles to post a 5-4 win over Adelphi on Friday in Northeast-10 men's tennis.

The Falcons dropped the first and third doubles matches, but senior Alec Spycher (Sarasota, Fla./Saint Stephens Episcopal) and freshman Raghav Tanna (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) prevented the sweep by besting Ryan Villarruel and Bryan Kallenberg in the second-flight by a score of 8-5.

Bentley then won the fifth, third and sixth singles matches to take a 4-2 lead. Spycher beat Adrish Tewarie 6-0, 6-2, Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) defeated Villarruel by the same score, and Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) bested Richard Fergeson 6-1, 7-6.

After Adelphi won the fourth-flight match to make the score 4-3, senior Zach Tuckman (Kinnelon, N.J./Morristown Beard School) rallied for a three set, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 win over Chiwete Njokanma to clinch the match for Bentley.

The Falcons, 12-4 overall and 8-0 in the NE-10, next host Franklin Pierce on April 11 at 2:00 p.m.
