Wever Named Northeast-10 Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior Lucas Wever (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) of the Bentley men's tennis team has been named the Northeast-10 Player of the Week. It's his fourth Player of the Week award this season.

Wever and the Falcons recorded three wins last week, all by sweeps, and have won four matches in a row overall. Bentley is one of three teams in the NE-10, along with Southern New Hampshire and Merrimack, which have perfect 7-0 records in conference play.

Individually, Wever went 5-0 over the three matches, picking up two wins in singles and three in doubles. He beat Eric Ringstad of Stonehill in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-4, and Nick Bosco of Saint Michael's in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

Wever added victories in third-flight doubles with sophomore Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) in those two matches, and the pair also won a second-flight doubles match against AIC earlier in the week.

Bentley has just one match this week, at home to Adelphi on Friday afternoon.
