Bentley Tops Cross-Town Rival Brandeis 7-2

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University came away a winner in its match with cross-town rival Brandeis, defeating the Judges 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis.

Junior Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) had a big part in the win with victories in both his matches. He teamed with senior Zach Tuckman (Kinnelon, N.J./Morristown Beard School) to best Alec Siegel and Michael Secular in top-flight doubles, 8-6. Ribeiro then swept Secular in third singles, 6-3, 6-3.

Bentley got off to a good start by sweeping the doubles, and had its three-six singles players win to complete the victory.

Sophomore Jimmy Rindo (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) dropped the first set to Adam Brown in fourth singles, but rallied for a 6-7 (8-10), 6-4, 10-7 win. Senior Alec Spycher (Sarasota, Fla./Saint Stephens Episcopal) topped Michael DeFeo in fifth singles, 6-4, 6-3, and sophomore Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) bested Matthew Zuckerman in sixth singles, 6-2, 6-2.

Bentley's next match is Tuesday afternoon at home to AIC.
