Bentley Opens Defense of NE-10 Title with Sweep of Assumption

 WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley men's tennis team got its defense of its Northeast-10 title off to a strong start Wednesday afternoon with a 9-0 sweep of Assumption.

Juniors Lucas Wever (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) and Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) each had 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles, beating Dylan Baker in the top-flight and Matt Drolet in the third-flight respectively.

Freshman Peter Koopman (Whitinsville, Mass./Whitinsville Christian) and Alex DeMuth (Shaker Heights, Ohio/University School) made their Bentley debuts with wins in singles, with Koopman beating Jerry Reilly 6-0, 6-1 and DeMuth besting Pat Murray 6-4, 6-3.

The Falcons return to the courts Saturday at Saint Anslem for an 11:00 a.m. start.
