WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshman John Zhang won two races to help the Bentley men's swimming and diving team defeat Saint Rose 124-103 in its home opener on Sunday.

Zhang won the 100 fly in 53.44, exactly one second over Peter Angotti of Saint Rose. Later in the meet he took the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.40.

Junior Kai West swam to victory in the 1000 free with a time of 10:40.30.

Freshman Daniel Ivanchikov won the 500 free by more than six seconds with a time of 4:58.51.

Bentley then closed the meet with a win in the 400 free relay. Carter Ferrara led it off, followed by Ivanchikov in the second leg, Danny Lehr the third leg and Andrew Matjucha the anchor.

The Falcons have now won 22 straight dual meets. They will look to keep the streak going when they host Assumption next Sunday.
