Bentley Stretches Win Streak to 17 with 212-76 Win over Adelphi

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University men's swimming and diving team stayed undefeated and extended its dual winning streak to 17 with a 212-76 victory over Adelphi University Thursday in the Dana Center pool. The Falcons captured 14 of the 16 events.

Leading the way was senior captain Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS) who won three individual races after helping Bentley take first in the 200 yard medley relay in 1:37.62. That quartet also included senior captain Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS) and sophomores Kenneth Ryu (Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola HS) and Calvin Ye (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber HS).

Vizental's victories came in the 200 butterfly (1:58.39), the 200 breaststroke (2:12.64) and the 400 individual medley (4:21.33).

Double-winners for the Falcons included Ye, Looney, junior Andrew Matjucha (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) and graduate student Jeremy Glick (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS). Ye took a pair of 100-yard races, swimming the backstroke in 54.27 seconds and the fly in 52.77. Looney, who was also part of the Falcons' winning 200 free relay team, was first in the two sprint freestyle races, finishing the 50 in 21.83 and the 100 in 48.30.

Matjucha captured the meet's two longest races as he swam the 500 free in 4:55.91 and the 1000 free in 10:06.77. Glick was victorious in both diving events, posting scores of 259.94 from the one-meter board and 226.87 from the three-meter.

Rounding out the list of winners for the 7-0 Falcons was sophomore Eddy Erofeyev (Longmeadow/Longmeadow HS) with a 2:06.72 in the 200 back, one of two events that the Falcons took the top three places in (200 fly).

The next action for Bentley is Tuesday night at Babson College.
