Bentley Improves to 3-0 with 143-53 Win over Saint Rose

WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore Andrew Matjucha (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) won two events and eight teammates also captured individual events as the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team downed The College of Saint Rose, 143-53, in the Dana Center pool Saturday afternoon.

Matjucha swam to victory in both the 200 yard freestyle and the 500 free, with times of 1:48.72 and 4:56.65, respectively. His performance in the 500 was a Northeast-10 season best.

Also prevailing in freestyle events for Bentley were juniors Michael Motisi (Ellington, Conn./Ellington HS) in the 1000 (10:40.65) and Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS) in the 100 (48.38).

Conference season bests were also recorded by seniors Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) and Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./Northport HS). Zoda was first in the 200 individual medley (2:00.38) and Papsco touched first in the 100 breaststroke (59.58).

Other individual winners for the 3-0 Falcons were senior Oscar Chang (Dix Hills, N.Y./Hall Hollow Hills West HS) in the 100 butterfly (53.85), junior Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS) in the 100 back (55.29), and senior divers Jeremy Glick (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) and Owen Busser (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS).

Next Saturday, Bentley travels to the other side of Waltham to compete against Brandeis.
