(from 2012-13) Sprint freestyle … 2010 graduate of Westerly High School who is majoring in economics-finance … owns school record in the 50 freestyle (21.61, set at the 2012 NEISDA meet), and also has a share of the school records in the 200 free (1:25.92) and 400 free relays (3:12.09), which were also set in February 2012 … in addition to owning the fastest 50 free in school history, ranks second in the 100 free (47.63, just .01 shy of the record) and eighth in the 100 individual medley (56.20) … 2011-12 Season: finished fourth in the 50 free and sixth in both the 100 free and 100 IM during the NEISDA Championships, and also helped Falcons to three silvers in the relays (200 free, 400 medley, 400 free) … in the process, broke the 50 free school record and helped set new standards in both freestyle relays … top finishes during the Northeast-10 Championships were sixth in the 100 free and seventh in the 50 free … also part of three relays that finished fifth (200 free, 400 medley, 400 free) … NE-10 Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week Nov. 22 … 2010-11 Season:  placed seventh in the 100 free, ninth in the 50 free and 15th in the 200 free during the NE-10’s while also participating on four relay teams that finished in the top six … was fifth in the 100 IM, sixth in the 100 free and seventh in the 50 free during the NEISDA Championships … also helped Bentley to seconds in both the 200 free and 200 medley relays, and third in the 400 medley … named NE-10 Men’s Rookie of the Week Nov. 16 … Before Bentley: at Westerly High, earned a total of nine varsity letters (four swimming, two cross country, two tennis, one outdoor track … two-year swim team captain … earned All-State honors in 50 free and 100 free … Rhode Island Wendy’s High School Heisman award … Personal: age as of Nov. 1: 19 … son of Mark and Christine Sylvia … has three sisters: Jaclyn (23), Rachelle (21) and Megan (18) … volunteers at Dunn’s Corner Community Presbyterian Church.
