Bentley Wins Diving Events, but Drops 164-117 Decision to Keene State

KEENE, N.H. -- Bentley University took both diving events, but Keene State College captured all the swimming events en route to a 164-117 victory over the Falcons in men's college swimming Saturday afternoon at the Keene State pool.

Senior Jon Andrews (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug HS) and junior Mike Walsh (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay HS) were first and second, respectively, in the one-meter diving with scores of 251.60 and 225.05.  Walsh later took the three-meter event with a score of 243.90.

Keene was led by freshman Drew Ledwith, who swam to victory in the 100 yard backstroke (56.04), the 200 back (1:58.13) and the 200 individual medley (2:01.94). He was also part of the Owls' winning 400 free relay team.

Bentley's only second in the swimming events was posted by junior David Curran (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) in the 1000 freestyle. He recorded a time of 10:53.08 to trail winner Daniel Oliviera by about 33 seconds.

Bentley, 7-2, will close out its dual schedule Tuesday at Bridgewater State.
