Falcons Put Six Goals Past New Haven in Rain Soaked Victory

WALTHAM, Mass. – Playing through heavy rain for much of the match, Bentley put six goals past New Haven in a 6-3 home victory on Saturday.

Graduate student captain Evan Levine scored two goals and had one assist. Freshman Antonio Santos had one goal and one assist and goals were also scored by Christian Zarka, Lukas Drahos and Chad Meyers.

Levine gave Bentley a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute after he took a cross from Ryan Sledjeski from the deep left wing and fired a shot to the top of the net.

Eight minutes later Santos' second goal of the season, assisted by Sam Winiarski, made it 2-0.

Four minutes before halftime Christian Zarka continued to write his comeback story from a serious knee injury with his second goal in four matches since returning.

New Haven pulled a goal back just 49 seconds into the second half, but Bentley continued its blitz with two more goals.

Levine's second goal of the day came in the 55th minute after he finished off a nice team move that saw assists from Drahos and freshman Michael Cagno.

In the 63rd minute Drahos scored himself to make it 5-1.

Graduate student captain Chad Meyers scored with a blistering shot in the 66th minute.

The Falcons are now 3-0-1 in their last four matches. They improved to 5-5-2 overall and 3-2-2 NE10. The next match is Wednesday at home against Saint Rose.
