Santos’ Goal Gives Bentley 1-0 Victory over Southern New Hampshire

WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshman Antonio Santos scored in the 46th minute to help Bentley to a huge 1-0 victory over Southern New Hampshire on Falcon Weekend.

Santos' goal came just 53 seconds after halftime and was his first career goal.

The goal started with a throw-in from Michael Haikal in the attacking end. Haikal's throw went all the way into the penalty area and was flicked on by Luke Hanchar. Santos was waiting on the far post to stab it into the back of the net for the goal.

The Falcons then held firm defensively over the final 44-plus minutes to earn a massive three points in the NE10 standings.

Goalkeepers Joe Griffin and Nick Maldarella kept a clean sheet in goal with Griffin making two saves and Maldarella three.

Bentley outshot the Penmen 7-3 in the first half and created a couple of good scoring chances through captain Evan Levine.

With the win Bentley improved its overall record to 4-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the NE10. The next game is on Tuesday night at AIC.
