Bentley Set to Play Franklin Pierce in Northeast-10 Championship Quarterfinals on Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley men's soccer team will take on Franklin Pierce in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Men's Soccer Championship on Saturday at 7:00 PM in Rindge, N.H.

The Falcons finished the regular season tied for 7th in the NE10 standings with Le Moyne and are the No. 8 seed based on the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Dolphins.

Franklin Pierce is not only the No. 1 seed in the NE10, but the No. 1 ranked team in the United Soccer Coaches Division II national poll. They sport a 17-0-1 overall record and went 10-0-1 in the NE10 regular season.

Junior forward Lukas Drahos (Melrose, Mass./Mystic Valley) finished the regular season as Bentley's leader in both goals (7) and points (15). He ranks T-7th in the NE10 in goals and 11th in points.

Senior Evan Levine (Boca Raton, Fla.) has also had an impressive offensive season with four goals and four assists for 12 points. That puts him T-16th in the NE10 in points. Sophomore Johann Fraser (Cambridge, Mass./Rindge & Latin) also has four goals on the season.

In goal, Eduardo Bomfim (Salvador, Brazil) has been one of the top keepers in the NE10 this season. He's a two-time Goalie of the Week and ranks second in the conference in saves (79) and fourth in save percentage (.760).

Sophomore center back Grant Larson (Camarillo, Calif.) leads the team in minutes played with 1,303 and senior midfielder Chad Meyers (East Northport, N.Y./St. Anthony's) is right behind him with 1,112. Captain Ronan Fitzpatrick (Coventry, Conn./East Catholic) is third with 1,090.

This will be the fourth time Bentley and Franklin Pierce have met in the postseason. The others were in 2010 finals and the quarterfinals in 2012 and 2019.

The other quarterfinals on Saturday will see Southern New Hampshire host Saint Rose in the 4-5 matchup, in Bentley's half of the bracket.

On the other side of the bracket, Southern Connecticut hosts Le Moyne in the 2-7 game and Assumption hosts Adelphi in the 3-6 game.

The semifinals will be played on Wednesday and the championship match is set for next Saturday.
