Fitzpatrick Scores but Bentley Falls at Assumption 3-1

WORCESTER, Mass. – Graduate student Ronan Fitzpatrick (Coventry, Conn./East Catholic) scored in the first half, but Bentley fell at Assumption 3-1 on Wednesday night in a non-conference match.

Assumption's Johannes Sundgot scored once in each half to lead the Greyhounds to the victory.

Sundgot put the home side on the board in the 4th minute, with an assist by midfielder Ruben Faria.

Faria was involved again just over four minutes later when he combined with forward Gustaf Albert to set up a goal by Daniel Paulsson to make it 2-0.

Fitzpatrick cut the lead in half when the Falcons were awarded a penalty kick in the 35th minute and he converted it from the spot to make it a 2-1 game.

It stayed that way until the 59th minute, when Sundgot and Faria teamed up again for a goal to put Assumption up 3-1.

Bentley forced Assumption keeper George Dixon into six saves on the night. Senior Patrick McMahon (Kingston, Mass./Silver Lake) led the team with two shots on goal.

The Falcons will be back in action on Sunday when they host Holy Family on at 12:00 pm.
