Southern Connecticut Scores in Second Overtime to Clip Bentley, 1-0

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut's Leroy Best (Bielefeld, Germany) scored in the 13th minute of overtime, and the 103rd minute of the match overall, to give the Owls a 1-0 victory over Bentley on Wednesday night in a Northeast-10 matchup.

The teams fought back and forth through the 90 minutes of regulation and the first 10 minutes of overtime in a scoreless game, until Best found the back of the net 2:54 into the second overtime to give the Owls the win.

Falcons goalkeeper Markus Foehr (Kailua, Hawaii) made six saves in regulation and one in the first overtime to finish the night with seven overall.

Senior midfielder Ronan Fitzpatrick (Coventry, Conn./East Catholic) led Bentley with four shots.

Senior center back Hunter Marshall (Harwinton, Conn./Avon Old Farms) played all 103 minutes for the Falcons. His backline partners Jack Bourassa (Bangor, Maine/Bangor) clocked 100 minutes and Nico Ruiz (Zaragoza, Spain) played 95 minutes on the pitch.

Junior Sean McLoughlin (Delran, N.J./Delran) was the other Falcon to clock over 90 minutes.

Bentley will next be in action on Saturday when they visit Assumption for a 4:00 pm match in Worcester.
