Segreti Nets a Hat Trick but Falcons Fall to Adelphi 19-7 in NE10 Semifinals

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Conor Segreti netted a hat trick but #4 nationally ranked Adelphi got the better of #14 ranked Bentley 19-7 in the semifinals of the Northeast 10 Championship on Wednesday night.

This was the third year in a row these two teams have met in the NE10 semis. Bentley won last season at home and Adelphi won in 2022.

The Panthers move on to face Saint Anselm in the finals on Saturday.

Cam Bartolomeo won 19-25 faceoffs to give the Falcons consistent possessions, but 13 saves by Adelphi goalie Dylan Renner thwarted some of those scoring opportunities.

The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead after just over six minutes before Bentley got on the board with a goal by Nicholas Thorn-Guillaro at the 7:18 mark.

They weren't able to score again however until the 1:57 mark of the second quarter on a goal by Garrett Witt. By that point Adelphi led 9-2.

Witt added another goal in the third quarter and Segreti recorded his hat trick in the fourth quarter alone.

Bentley's record fell to 9-5 on the season. They were ranked fourth in the latest NCAA East Region rankings and will await word on selection to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night.
