#13 Men’s Lacrosse Hosts Assumption for Senior Night on Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. – The #13 ranked Bentley men's lacrosse team hosts Assumption for its Senior Night on Saturday at 7:00 PM in the penultimate game of the regular season.

 

A Look at the Standings

The Falcons head into Saturday's game knowing that wins in the final two games of the regular season will secure a home game in the first round of the NE10 Championship. They have a 4-3 NE10 record, which is tied for fourth place with Saint Michael's, but the Falcons own the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Adelphi tops the standings with a 7-0 record, followed by Pace at 7-1 and Saint Anselm at 6-1.

 

National Rankings

The Falcons are ranked 13th in this week's USILA poll. They are one of four NE10 teams ranked, with Adelphi leading the way at #4, followed by Saint Anselm at #7 and Pace at #9.

 

High Scoring Affairs

Bentley's two wins last week over Saint Michael's and SNHU featured 65 goals combined.

They defeated the Purple Knights in overtime 16-15 on a goal by David Gagnon. That came after they rallied from a 14-12 deficit with seven minutes left in the 4th quarter. Garrett Witt tied the game 15-15 with a man-up goal with 2:23 to go.

The Falcons then started slow at SNHU and trailed 10-4 after the first quarter. However, they outscored the Penmen 15-5 the rest of the way for a 19-15 victory.

 

Piersiak and Parton in the Top 11

Kyle Piersiak and Alex Parton are ranked in the top-11 nationally in caused turnovers per game.

Piersiak is 8th at 2.80 per game (28 total) and Parton is 11th at 2.60 per game (26 total).

 

Thorn-Guillaro on the Honor Roll

Nicholas Thorn-Guillaro was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after he had nine goals combined in the two games last week.

 

Series History

Bentley leads the all-time series over Assumption 26-4. They've won four straight in the series, including a 13-12 road win in Worcester last season.
