#14 Falcons Face Road Tests vs. Saint Michael’s and SNHU

WALTHAM, Mass. – Men's lacrosse has a pair of road games on the schedule this week against Saint Michael's and Southern New Hampshire as the race for the postseason begins to come into focus.

The Falcons visit the Purple Knights on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM and visit the Penmen on Sunday for a matinee at 12:00 PM.

 

National Rankings

The Falcons are ranked 14th in this week's USILA poll, down one spot from #13 last week. They are 4-4 overall. All four of their defeats have been to teams that are currently ranked in the top-10.

 

A Look at the Standings

Adelphi and Saint Anselm are clear at the top of the NE10 standings with 6-0 and 4-0 conference records but after that it is tightly bunched. Pace is in the third at 4-1 and Saint Michael's is a half game behind them at 3-1. Assumption sits in fifth at 2-2 and the Falcons are a half game behind them at 2-3.

The first round of the NE10 playoffs is on Saturday, April 27.

 

Piersiak Claims Another Award

Kyle Piersiak was named the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for the second time this season.

Against nationally ranked Pace on April 3 he had four caused turnovers and seven ground balls. That was his fourth game this season with at least three caused turnovers.

In Saturday's win over Franklin Pierce he notched another caused turnover and two ground balls and helped the Falcons defense hold the Ravens to just two goals.

He ranks tied for fifth nationally in caused turnovers per game (3.00).

 

Balanced Offense

The Falcons have featured a balanced offense this season. Seven players have at least six goals and eight players have double digits in points.

Conor Segreti leads the team in goals (17) and points (22). Eddie Gigliotti, who was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, leads the team with 11 assists.

 

Series History

Bentley leads Saint Michael's 23-9 in the all-time series. The Falcons won at home in last season's matchup 20-5 as Segreti notched four goals and Nicholas Thorn-Guillaro had three.

Bentley leads SNHU 28-4 in the all-time series. They won last season's game at home 16-5 behind five goals from Garrett Witt.
