#11 Bentley Faces Road Tests at AIC and #12 Saint Anselm This Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – The #11 ranked Bentley men's lacrosse team returns from a nine-day layoff on Tuesday when they visit AIC for the first of two road games this week. The Falcons also take on #12 Saint Anselm on Saturday.

 

National and Regional Rankings

The Falcons are ranked #11 in this week's USILA poll with a 2-2 record. They are ranked first in the NEILA New England poll. They own wins this season over #12 Saint Anselm and #18 Frostburg State.

 

Last Time Out

The Falcons last played on March 16 at home against Adelphi and suffered a tough 12-9 defeat. A close game the entire way wasn't decided until the 4th quarter. Earlier that week the Falcons went on the road and defeated Frostburg 12-6.

 

Piersiak Gets Recognized

Sophomore Kyle Piersiak earned two awards for the week of March 16 as he was named the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week and named to the USILA Team of the Week. He totaled 10 ground balls and nine caused turnovers in two games, including seven caused turnovers against Adelphi.

Piersiak is currently 7th nationally in caused turnovers per game at 3.00.

 

Balanced Scoring

Bentley has had a balanced scoring attack so far this season. Six players have at least five goals, and Conor Segreti and Jayce Lambert share the team lead with eight goals each. Segreti and Nathan Alviti both have a team high five assists.

 

Picking Up Where He Left Off

Cam Bartolomeo has picked up where he left off last season in the faceoff circle. A preseason All-America, he ranks 21st nationally in faceoff winning percentage at 63.1 (53-84). In the last game against Adelphi he won 18 of 23 draws.

 

Series History

Bentley has never lost to AIC in 29 previous meetings. They won last season's game in Waltham 19-4.

The all-time series against Saint Anselm is 20-11 in the Falcons favor. They won a non-conference game in Waltham earlier this season 13-11. The teams also played twice last season with the Hawks winning both, including 11-8 in the NE10 game that was played in Waltham.
