Piersiak Named NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
WALTHAM, Mass. – Kyle Piersiak was named the Northeast 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Piersiak totaled 10 ground balls and nine caused turnovers in two games last week.
He began the week by helping the Falcons defense hold nationally ranked Frostburg State to just six goals in a 12-6 road victory on March 13. He had three caused turnovers and four ground balls, and also added a goal himself.
Piersiak then had a monster game against No. 5 Adelphi on Saturday with a career high seven caused turnovers, to go along with five ground balls.
The Falcons are ranked 10th in this week's USILA poll with a 2-2 record. They have wins over No. 12 Saint Anselm and No. 19 Frostburg. Their two defeats have been to No. 4 Adelphi and No. 7 Mercy, by just five combined goals.
Bentley's next game is on March 26 at American International.
