No. 9 Bentley Comes Up Just Short vs. No. 5 Adelphi, 12-9

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley and Adelphi renewed acquaintances on Saturday for the fourth game between the two teams in 11 months, but it was the fifth ranked Panthers who emerged victorious over the ninth ranked Falcons 12-9.

Adelphi's Eamon Hall almost single-handily carried their attack with eight goals, five of which came in the second half.

The three games between the two teams last season were decided by just six goals total, and Saturday's game was another close contest.

Neither team led by more than two goals until the fourth quarter, when Hall scored at the 11:45 mark of the fourth to give them a 10-7 lead.

Hall scored again at 7:39 for an 11-7 lead.

But the Falcons didn't go quietly. David Gagnon scored at 4:28 and Nathan Alviti at 4:03 to cut the deficit to 11-9.

However Adelphi got the all important next goal, from Hall, at 2:46 to make it 12-9.

Bentley's Cam Bartolomeo went 18-23 in the faceoff circle and had 12 ground balls.

Offensively, Conor Segreti, Jayce Lambert and David Gagnon each had two goals.

The Falcons will next be in action on March 26 at AIC.
