No. 9 Bentley Travels to Frostburg State Before Hosting No. 5 Adelphi Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley men's lacrosse team is in action twice this week. They face Frostburg State on the road on Wednesday at 3:00 PM before they host Adelphi on Saturday at 1:00 PM.

National Rankings

Bentley was idle last week and dropped one spot in the USILA Division II poll to ninth. They were eighth in the March 4 edition of the poll after they defeated Saint Anselm, then ranked fifth, on March 1.

Adelphi is ranked fifth in the poll this week and are off to a 2-2 start on the season. They have wins over Georgian Court and Mercy, but lost to Lenoir-Rhyne, ranked first at the time, and most recently Rollins, ranked No. 2, on March 9.

Familiar Foes

The Falcons and Panthers are very familiar with each other after three epic games last season in less than three weeks.

It started in the regular season on April 22 in Garden City with Bentley winning 13-11. They met 11 days later in Waltham in the semifinals of the NE10 Championship and the Falcons won that encounter 7-4 to advance to the NE10 finals.

Seven days after that game, they met again in Waltham in the first round of the NCAA Championship. But this time Adelphi was victorious 9-8.

In all, just six goals separated the teams in the three games. Bentley scored 28 goals to Adelphi's 24.

Saturday's game will be the 29th all-time meeting.

Nice To Meet You

Wednesday's game will be the first ever meeting between Bentley and Frostburg State, who compete in the East Coast Conference. They are off to a 3-1 start this season with wins over Wheeling, Walsh and Malone, and a close 15-14 defeat to No. 14 Mercyhurst.
