Bentley Places Eight on NE10 All-Conference Teams; Murphy Named Coach of the Year and Bartolomeo Face-off Specialist of the Year

WALTHAM, Mass. – Eight student-athletes from the Bentley men's lacrosse team earned spots on the 2023 Northeast-10 All-Conference teams, and head coach Jim Murphy was named Coach of the Year, it was announced on Tuesday.

Junior Cam Bartolomeo (Meriden, Conn./Xavier) was named the Face-off Specialist of the Year.

It's the 7th time in his career that Murphy has been named NE10 Coach of the Year. He led the team to a 9-4 overall record in the regular season and a second place finish in the NE10 standings with an 8-2 record. The team is currently ranked 10th nationally by the USILA.

The eight student athletes named All-Conference were Bartolomeo, Joseph Franzoso (Shrewsbury, Mass./St. John's), Luke Jaber (Milton, Mass./BC High), Nathan Alviti (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield), Conor Segreti (Darnestown, Md./St. John's), Alex Parton (Victor, N.Y./Victor), Kyle Piersiak (Needham, Mass./Needham) and Alex Ryan (Windham, N.H./Windham).

Bartolomeo was also named first team All-Conference. He's won 60.2 percent of his face-offs (174-289) and collected 94 ground balls. He currently ranks 15th in Division II in both face-off winning percentage and ground balls per game (7.23).

Franzoso, a junior defenseman, was named first team All-Conference. He's started every game this season and has seven caused turnovers and 15 ground balls. He's been part of a collective defensive effort that has Bentley ranked 4th in the NE10 in goals against average (9.77).

Jaber was voted second team All-Conference at attack. A senior and team co-captain, he's had another big offensive season and leads the team in each of goals (33), assists (18) and points (51). Jaber was named the NE10 Player of the Week on March 27, and he hit the 100 career points milestone on April 22 in a win over Adelphi.

Alviti was also voted second team All-Conference as a midfielder. He notched 20 goals and 10 assists in 13 regular season games. He recorded multiple points in seven regular season contests.

Segreti earned a third team All-Conference selection at attack. He is second on the team in each of goals (23), assists (14) and points (37) and set career highs in each of those categories. Segreti notched at least four points in seven of 13 regular season contests.

A long-stick midfielder, Parton was tabbed third team All-Conference. He's tied for the team lead with 10 caused turnovers and scooped up 34 ground balls.

Piersiak and Ryan were both named to the All-Rookie team. Pierskiak is an LSM and is tied for the team lead with 10 caused turnovers. He's also chipped in offensively with one goal and three assists.

Ryan is a midfielder, who in his freshman season has five goals and three assists so far. He scored a season-high two goals in a win over Saint Rose and also notched goals in wins over Southern N.H. and AIC.
