Five Bentley Players Named NEILA Preseason All-New England

Waltham, Mass. – Five players from the Bentley men's lacrosse team have been named to the NEILA All-New England Preseason Team.

The five players are senior midfielder Matt Brooks (Brunswick, Maine/Phillips Exeter), senior goalie Mike Haggan (Braintree, Mass./BC High), junior defensive midfielder Connor Baughan (Foxborough, Mass./Portsmouth Abbey), junior defenseman Matt Dold (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) and junior attacker Kris Campbell (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow).

Bentley is also ranked second in the NEILA preseason poll, and is ranked 19th this week in the USILA poll, with the team's first game a week from Saturday.

Brooks was a third team NE10 All-Conference selection in 2019 and was also first team All-New England. He was second on the team in both goals (22) and points (31). He had four hat tricks on the season and three games with at least four points.

Haggan was a second team NE10 All-Conference selection a year ago and was also named first team NEILA All-New England. In 12 starts last season he posted a 57.4 save percentage, second best in the NE10, and a 10.44 goals against average which was the fifth best mark in the NE10.

Baughan was previously named a second team Preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse. He led Bentley with 40 ground balls last season and his honors for 2019 were third team All-Conference and first team All-New England.

Dold played in all 14 games for the Falcons last season, and started 12 of them. He ranked second on the team in ground balls with 27, and was tied for second on the squad in caused turnovers with 10.

Campbell was Bentley's third leading goal scorer in 2019 with 17 tallies. He was also third on the team in assists (11) and points (28).

The Falcons get the 2020 season started next Saturday, Feb. 29 when they host NE10 rival Le Moyne at 11:00 am.
