Bentley Picked in Top Six in Northeast-10 Preseason Poll
Waltham, Mass. – The Bentley men's lacrosse team has been picked in the top six in the Northeast-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference announced on Tuesday.
The Falcons picked up 63 points in the poll, with the NE10's coaches forecasting the team to finish 6th in the ultra-competitive conference.
Bentley gets the 2019 season started three weeks from Saturday on March 2 with a road game against New York Tech. They open at home one week later on March 9 against Roberts Wesleyan.
Led by head coach Jim Murphy, Bentley returns a number of key players this season. Six of its top seven scorers are back, led by seniors Alex Astarita (Bedford, N.H./Bishop Guertin) and Sam Hurley (Medfield, Mass./Medfield). Seniors Brent Summers (San Diego, Calif./Westview) and Jack Taddeo (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) return to lead the defense and junior goalie Mike Haggan (Braintree, Mass./BC High) returns after a number of impressive performances in 2018.
