Adler and Astarita Named Preseason All-New England; Team Receives Votes in USILA Poll

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University men's lacrosse players Max Adler (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Northfield Mt. Hermon) and Alex Astarita (Bedford, N.H./Bishop Guertin) have been named Preseason All-New England by the NEILA. As a team, Bentley received votes in the USILA/Nike preseason coaches poll.

Adler was selected to the team as a face-off specialist, while Astarita is one of four attackers on the squad.

A senior, Adler is coming off a standout 2016 season that saw him most prominently named a third team All-American by the USILA after he finished third in the nation in face-off winning percentage (.728) and fourth in ground balls per game (9.15).

Astarita, now a sophomore, was named to the NE10 All-Rookie last season. He finished 3rd on the team in both goals (19) and points (23), and had a goal in all but one of Bentley's 13 games.

As a team, the Falcons were among those that received votes in the USILA's preseason poll. Bentley was also picked seventh in the NE10 preseason coaches poll that was released on Friday.

The Falcons are set to get their season started two weeks from Saturday, on Feb. 25 at NYIT.
