No. 12 Bentley Shuts Down So. New Hampshire in Second Half for 15-10 Win

WALTHAM, Mass. - The Penmen hung tough for the first half and the score was tied at eight at halftime, but Bentley took over in the second half.

The Falcons shut them out 4-0 in the third quarter, helped in part by two goals from freshman Nick Astarita (Bishop, N.H./Bishop Guertin).

Sophomore Steve Caditz (Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island), senior Matt Boilard (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug) and junior Brendan Grant (Walpole, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) scored fourth quarter goals to give Bentley a 15-8 lead before the Penmen scored twice in the game's waning moments.

Southern New Hampshire started strong in the first quarter, scoring the first two goals. Bentley rallied back to tie the game at three on a goal by sophomore Dan Keefer (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) that started a 5-0 run to give the Falcons a 7-3 lead at the end of the first.

Bentley improves to 4-4 overall with the win and 4-1 in the NE-10, while Southern New Hampshire drops to 2-7 and 1-5. The Falcons are back in action on Saturday afternoon at home against American International.
