Falcons Square Off with Black Knights This Weekend; Senior Day Set for Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Falcons are back at home this weekend to take on Army West Point for the final two-game home weekend of the regular season. Friday night's game gets underway at 7:05 PM and prior to Saturday's 4:05 start, the team will celebrate Senior Day.

 

Senior Night

Prior to Saturday's game seven seniors will be honored on the ice for their contributions to the Bentley community. They are, Matt Thomson, Jonathan Bendorf, Nick Bochen, Ethan Harrison, Josh Latta, Ethan Leyh and Nicholas Grabko. Arrive early to catch the ceremony!

 

A look at the Standings

Bentley has just three weekends left in the regular season. This weekend against Army West Point, next weekend at Canisius, and a split weekend against Holy Cross and Sacred Heart on Feb. 22 & 24.

The Falcons enter this weekend three points out of a top-five spot and a bye to the quarterfinals. The teams in 6th-8th place host a first round, single elimination game on March 2.

 

Defensive Stoppers

Bentley has played 28 games this season, and in 21 of them they have held the opponent to three goals or fewer (75 percent).

They have held opponents to two goals or less in 15 of 28 games (53.5 percent). That includes at least one game in every conference weekend, except one.

Nationally, the Falcons rank 12th in fewest goals allowed per game at 2.46.

Additionally, Bentley is one of just two teams in the nation to have two goalies in the top 25 nationally in GAA. Connor Hasley is 19th (2.41) and Nick Grabko is 24th (2.48).

 

Vote for Hobey

Ethan Leyh and Nick Bochen are both on the fan ballot for the 2024 Hobey Baker Award. Leyh leads the Falcons in points with 22 and Bochen is third with 17.

Bochen has the 7th most points among defensemen in the AHA and Leyh is 12th in the league in points.

Series History

The all-time series between Bentley and Army is 34-35-15.

Bentley won at West Point earlier this season on Jan. 2 by a 5-2 score as five different players scored. Ryan Mansfield, Arlo Merritt, Ryan Upson Colton Cameron and Stephen Castagna all scored.
