Falcons come up short against Holy Cross again, 2-0

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley hockey team was blanked by Holy Cross, 2-0, for the second consecutive time Saturday evening. The Crusaders won by the same score in Worcester Friday night.

After a scoreless tie through the first period, Holy Cross got in the board with seven minutes left in the second period. The Crusaders netted an insurance goal with four minutes left in regulation.

The Falcons totaled 29 shots, and the defense held Holy Cross to just 13 shots.

However, Bentley went 0-for-4 on the powerplay Saturday night, and finished the Holy Cross series 0-for-9 with the man-up opportunity.

"Special teams make a big difference in tight games, and Holy Cross won the special teams battle, for sure, so credit to them," said Bentley head coach Andy Jones.

"Credit to Holy Cross, I thought they were terrific," said Jones. "I thought they were disciplined, I thought they were strong on the puck, I thought they had a plan and they executed it really well."

The Falcons have a quick turnaround when they travel to Springfield, Mass. Tuesday, Nov. 21, to take on American International.
