Bentley downed at Holy Cross, 2-0

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Bentley hockey team dominated possession for long stints, but the Falcons couldn't find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss at Holy Cross Friday night. It was just the second time this season that Bentley has been held scoreless.

The Falcons killed seven of the Crusaders' eight power play opportunities. Holy Cross net a man-up goal with 90 seconds left in regulation. Bentley had five powerplay chances during the game.

Holy Cross took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period, but the Falcons entered the second period determined to net the equalizer. Within the first four minutes of the second, Bentley rattled off seven shots.

Sam Duerr accounted for nine of Bentley's 45 shots, six of which were on goal. In all, the Falcons put 23 shots on goal to Holy Cross's 25.

Nicholas Grabko made 23 saves for Bentley, bringing his season total to 119 through five starts.

The Falcons and Crusaders faceoff in Waltham Saturday, Nov. 17, at 4 p.m.
